As with corrugated board , solid board is manufactured from sustainable sources and is used extensively for point of sale high quality print products . Unlike corrugated , solid board as its name suggests does not have fluting and is produced as one piece / layer and at various thicknesses to ensure maximum performance . It has excellent water resistance and is suited to food products that may go into cold stores and freezers . As with corrugated , most solid board designs are found in the FEFCO guide and the high density nature of the board provides optimal protection for the products inside . Some of the area's that solid board is used in extensively includes header cards , blister packs , counter top displays , leaflet holders , fast food , telecoms , footwear , etc .
